First Profession of Malgorzata (Gosia) Kanafa in Arusha, Tanzania

"To the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:11)

Gosia Kanafa had chosen these words to express the meaning of her First Profession as MSOLA.

In presence of Sr Chantal Vankalck, General Assistant, and in presence of the sisters of the community of Arusha as well as Sr Francoise Nadeau from Dar-es-Salaam, Malgorzata (Gosia) Kanafa pronounced her first vows on March 10, 2007.

The celebration was presided by Fr Jean-Michel Laurent of the Missionaries of Africa at St Mbaaga Seminary in Arusha.

Gosia is appointed to Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, community where she will work in Tandale Parish.
Our newly professed sister did her Postulancy in Gumo, Ghana, the Study-Block and the novitiate in Arusha.

On the 24th of March 2007Clémence Sawadogo, Burkinabé, Antoinette Murhima, Congolese, Appoline Traoré, Burkinabé, and Anastasie Muzinga, Congolese (on the picture from left to right), made their First Profession as MSOLA in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso.

Antoinette Murhima is appointed to Gitega, Burundi
Appoline Traoré and Anastasie Muzinga are sent to Ghardaia, Algeria
Clémence Sawadogo is appointed to Burkina Faso to complete her studies.

First vows of Anna and Matilda, Nairobi March 2006

On the 25th of March 2006, Anna Apolinary, from Tanzania and Matilda Baanuo, from Ghana made their first profession in Nairobi, joining the congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa (MSOLA).

The ceremony took place at the novitiate community, and the MSOLA from Nairobi and some Missionaries of Africa accompanied them. At the same ceremony, Sr. Florence Mwamba Malunga, from DR Congo renewed her vows.

At the end of the Eucharist, Sr. Jocelyne Morin, the provincial of the MSOLA Eastern African province send them to their new mission. Sr. Anna is appointed to South B community in Nairobi, where she will teach in one of the slum schools in Mukuru. Sr. Matilda is appointed to Zambia at Lusaka community to work at the service of the parish and the small christian communities.

First vows in Nairobi March 2005

On the 29th March at the Nairobi novitiate (South B) the following sisters made their first profession in the MSOLA congregation:

  • Sr Bernadette Musimenta (from Uganda; she has been sent to Uganda - Kisubi community, to continue her studies)
  • Sr Anafrida Biro (from Tanzania has been sent to Mauritania)
  • Sr Philomena Aruk (from Ghana has been sent to Malawi)
  • Sr Susana Bosuh (from Ghana has been sent to Tanzania (Dar-es-Salaam)
  • Sr Harriet Kabaije (from Uganda was sent to Arusha in Tanzania )
  • Sr Justine Akampamya (from Uganda was sent to Gumo community in Ghana
