Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa (MSOLA)

MSOLA Family Album

The bells that marked the life of many generations of MSOLA. They were in the General House, St. Charles in Algiers (Algeria) and are now at the Generalate in Rome. After the election of the General Team the bells are rung by the youngest members of the General Chapter.

the Generalate in Rome.

It is called "Our lady of the vow", because it
is the statue that has been in the Generalate of the MSOLA since the vow M. Marie-Salomé and Sr. Gonzague made in 1872, at the moment Cardinal Lavigerie wanted to disolve the congregation. They promised that the image of O.L. of Africa would be always present in the court of the Generalate if the congregations was not abolished. The sculpture was brought from Algiers when the generalate moved from Algeria to Rome.
