THE MSOLA SPIRITUALITY

An Apostolic Spirituality for the
Missionaries Sisters of Our Lady of Africa

Our spirituality is APOSTOLIC, rooted in the mystery of salvation: God is present in the whole of creation, in each person we meet... He is at work in our history, transforming the world into his Kingdom.

"At the very heart of our lives and activity, we find God in all things and all things in him, and recognise the Spirit at wrok in those to whom we are sent"
Constitutions n.6

This conviction is the driving force and the unifying factor in our lives: it fashions our way of being, of praying, of carrying out the Mission, of relating to others and of living the vows.

The Pelican is a symbol for us of what love means: to give one's own life... as the pelican gives its own blood to feed her little ones.

For a missionary nothing is "profane".

We can truly find God in all things.

This is what "Apostolic Spirituality" is about.

Aware of the presence of God in everyone and everywhere we respond to all of life as a message from God,and so take our daily decisions which are directed towards humanizing the world.

Prayer of the apostle

Prayer is at the very heart of our existence.

To pray is to let ourselves be drawn by the Spirit into the relationship of the Son to the Father, so as to be one with him and complete his work.

Our whole life is caught up in the love relationship between the Father, the Son and the Spirit.

It is expressed through contempation, action and praise and leads us to recognize God at work in the world, in our lives and in the lives of others.

Our prayer springs from the Word of God which is alive and active, penetrating the very core of our being. Gradually everything we do is inspired by it and we take on the mind and heart of Jesus Christ.
