Certain
Church leaders in Africa are defending the oppressed and victims of injustice
at the cost of their own lives. With them we are committed to work for Justice
and reconciliation .
External
and interior factors have increased the situations of distress in Africa (extreme
poverty, conflicts, violence, corruption, fundamentalist movements,...). As congregation
we have taken the option to build a culture of peace. Through our work
with refugees, victims of violence , street children
Christians
in Africa are aware of their responsability in the realities of the Continent.
We are involved in the formation of leaders and christian communities.
Countless
African women are struggling courageously to find means of survival for their
families. Through our participation in women's groups and projects for self-reliance
we contribute to a more human society.
After
having seen the consequences for Africa of "women trafficking" some
of our sisters are involved in organizations which provide women with assistance
and protection.
The
mobility of today's society allows the encounter of people from different cultures,
countries and religions. Tensions and conflicts can arise when faced with this
pluralism. Our commitment in theinter-religious dialogue helps us to be
bridge-builders and to promote mutual understanding and respect .
Infectious
diseases - including HIV/AIDS - are ravaging the African continent. Our sisters
accompany the AIDS victims and their families, care for the orphans
and work towards the change of laws and situations to obtain medecines
and health care for all.
Young
people in Africa are searching for meaning. The sisters are committed in youth
ministry and helping street children to be integrated into society.
God's
salvation has to be Good News for all. Body and spiritual dimensions are integral
part of human beings. In this holistic approach sisters care for the needs of
the body and the spirit. Many of our sisters are involved in the health, education
and spiritual dimension.
